Targets
Connection between studies and the professional world:
- Support of professional ability and job application skills, career entry and career design involving the TUM network
- Target group-specific career assistance throughout the entire student life cycle
- Help for personal commitment (e.g. volunteering during studies - support for students from professional life)
Project description
The projects of the two previous Alumni & Career tuition fee concepts will be completed and replaced by the new “Alumni & Career Connect” concept, which will be carried out until 2018.
"Alumni & Career Connect" combines the individual measures that have already been carried out into an overall concept that continues the tried and tested offers, makes greater use of the network and its contacts, and promotes and demands commitment. The programs will be further developed in line with new requirements and needs and supplemented by specific new services.
The focus of the program measures is on the areas of information, consulting and networking:
- Information
- Print and online publications (career guides in German and English, “Time for Career” events calendar, online document pool, newsletter etc.)
- Program of events on career topics and Career Days at all three TUM locations in German and English, also on international topics
- Online offers such as short videos with application tips, job and internship exchange, e-career fair etc.
- Consultancy
- Group, individual and short consultations (“walk-ins”), “Quick Response” online consultations, CV checks, etc. in German and English as required
- Networking
- Alumni student programs such as TUM Mentoring
- Job Shadowing
- Juniors meet Seniors
- internationales Career Assistance Network
- Business network
- Volunteering (student Career Guides, Career Building for individual target groups etc.)
The measures are increasingly supported virtually by webinars, chats, online communities, data banks and other e-services.
