SportlerHerz e.V.
SportlerHerz is a fundraising initiative that was founded at the BuFaTa Sport (Bundesfachschaftentagung Sport) and continues to be organised. At the BuFaTa, new projects are always presented or selected, which are then supported by SportlerHerz. We support projects that can provide a positive added value in terms of our health in a sporting way, as we all have a sportsman's heart inside us. The projects range from exercise programmes for blind people to activities for children with cancer. You are always welcome to submit ideas for new projects to our student council. It is only with your support that we can continue this project from year to year, which makes us so happy. Thank you very much!
Awareness
What does awareness actually mean? Awareness means attention. Attention to the things that many look away from. Attention to the things that make us special. Attention to humanity and togetherness. Diversity must finally be seen for what it really is: a great enrichment for our society. Everyone should be able to feel comfortable, and therefore we do not accept any transgressions of your boundaries.
If you are subjected to harassment, racism, sexism, or similar behaviour at our university, you are welcome to contact us, the Diversity Officer, or the Women's Officer of our school. Of course, everything will be treated confidentially.
We can also be found at various events, such as the annual political parade of the CSD (Christopher Street Day) in Munich. There, we demonstrate together for equal rights and social acceptance of the LGBTQIA+ community and commemorate the Stonewall riots in 1969, which were the origin of CSD.
First Days
We know that starting at a university is often associated with many questions and uncertainties. That's exactly why we organise very special first days for you. They are designed to make your start at university as pleasant as possible and to give you the opportunity to get to know your fellow students. You can find more information about the first days here.
First Year Trip
The first year trip is a joint trip that lasts over a whole weekend from Friday to Sunday and offers you the opportunity to make new friends, experience adventures together, and have an unforgettable time. You can find more information about the first year trip here.
TUM Campus Run
The TUM Campus Run is an annual recurring race that, as the name suggests, takes place next to one of the TUM campuses. Around 2,000 runners compete on a 5.5- and 11-kilometre course. The run is organised by the Junge Akademie as well as students and staff from all areas of TUM, with us, the student council, acting as a supporting partner. We provide a beverage stand for the physical well-being of the participants and also help during the run by handing out start numbers, manning course marshals, and accompanying the run with bicycles.
Social Media
You've probably already discovered our Instagram account @fs.sport.gesundheit.muc. For those who don't know us yet, here's a brief overview of what we do in the social media team, or as we call ourselves, "social media brothers":
First and foremost, we use our account for announcements of events and important dates in the semester (study-relevant deadlines (re-registration deadline, exam registration, LV registration, etc.), registration for the winter and summer tournament days, mulled wine sales, our ever-popular/infamous athlete parties, etc.). You can also find our merch catalogue, the opening hours of the student council, and fundraising projects like SportlerHerz, the Spowi calendar, and our podcast Stereotonin. A small but nice part of our work is also to support of important projects of the TUM or other institutions and to generate attention. Maybe there is something interesting for you!
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us on Instagram!
Bundesfachschaftentagung
The Bundesfachschaftentagung, also known as BuFaTa, is a biannual event where sports student councils from all over Germany come together to exchange ideas, play sports together, and make contacts. The BuFaTa runs from Thursday to Sunday and offers a wide range of activities. While in theory groups, for example, problems in everyday university life are discussed or the quality of teaching is debated, other groups are dedicated to trying out new sports such as tchoukball, beach handball, or jugger. In addition, BuFaTa is involved in joint fundraising projects such as SportlerHerz and organises guest lectures on various topics.
The BuFaTa is organised by a sports student council in Germany, which masters the organisational effort during its own studies. Those responsible from their own student council take care of registration, travel planning, and gathering input from their university. Ideally, sports or theory workshops are led by members of their own student council. After the BuFaTa, it is important to pass on event information to other student council members and implement ideas.
The BuFaTa offers a unique opportunity to strengthen cooperation between sports student councils and to represent the interests of students. And who knows, maybe Munich will also host a BuFaTa at the new campus in the Olympic Park in the future.
Toilet Newspaper
To sweeten the students' time at the loo a bit, we put together a monthly toilet newspaper with important information such as dates for the month and some entertaining parts and then distribute the toilet newspaper in the toilets on campus.
Teaching Award
The teaching prize is awarded every year in two categories (best lecture and best seminar) to exceptionally committed lecturers. In the teaching award committee, we sit together with 2-3 representatives of the student council and 2-3 representatives of the school and discuss the awarding of the prize as well as the small gifts that are distributed to the winners.
QM Circle Teaching
The QM Circle Teaching (quality management circle teaching) meets once per semester. The aim is to improve the quality of teaching in the individual degree programmes. To this end, we are in regular exchange with the heads of the degree programmes and teaching assistants of the school as well as with the school management, in order to actively participate in the design and quality assurance of the courses as well as their contents. In order to be able to better and more broadly incorporate the expectations and constructive criticism of the students, we are always dependent on your feedback. So if you have ideas, suggestions, or questions on this topic, our door is always open to you.
First Year Bags
For their welcome at our school, all new students receive a bag with lots of great gifts, vouchers, and information for the perfect start to university life.
Student Council General Assembly
At the student council general assembly (FVV), students have the opportunity to get to know us, the sports and health student council, to learn about current events, or to address questions and suggestions to us. All students of our school are automatically invited to the FVV.
Sponsoring
Goodies in the first year bags? Free Red Bull with ticket sales for the athletes' party? To ensure that students not only get to enjoy the great work we do but also take something home with them, our sponsorship team is constantly working to build and maintain interesting partnerships. We are in contact with sponsoring partners who have already worked with us, look for and contact potential new partners, and then coordinate with them how and when they can do something good for us and the students.
