The Student Council Forest Science & Resource Management

Student Council?!

What is this?

"A student council describes an institution of student self-administration and representation of interests at universities and other higher education institutions" - at least this is what Wikipedia explains (translated from Wikipedia15 December 2024).

Who is this?

All students enrolled at the faculty automatically belong to a student council. Therefore, all students in the Forest Science and Resource Management (BSc), Forest and Wood Science (MSc), and Sustainable Resource Management (MSc) degree programs automatically belong to the Student Council Forest Science and Resource Management.

In common parlance, however, “student council” refers to the “active” members, i.e., the students who attend meetings and take on positions and tasks.

What do we do?

We, the student council, are a group of students from all semesters of our department. Together, we represent the students of the B.Sc. Forest Science and Resource Management, the M.Sc. Forest and Wood Science and the M.Sc. Sustainable Resource Management - in other words, you and your interests!

How are we organized?

Every year, you elect some of us as student representatives in the university elections as student representatives by the Bavarian Higher Education Act. However, this is not all: many non-elected fellow students also volunteer with us. Moreover, to organize events for you, we have founded our association, “Fachschaft Forstwissenschaft und Ressourcenmanagement e.V..” This helps us better fulfill tasks in and beyond university policy.
